Promoting Parenthood at CaringWorks

Homeless families make up nearly one-third of the national homeless population in the United States.* At CaringWorks, we are committed to supporting families as they work hard to escape homelessness and rebuild their lives. Through housing and supportive services, we promote parenthood and celebrate the mothers and fathers in our program whose dedication and perseverance build brighter futures for themselves and their families.

CaringWorks Client Amber

Recognizing that most families experiencing homelessness are headed by single mothers with young children*, CaringWorks has a unique program, Moving on to Victory and Empowerment or MOVE, which focuses on women with one or more disabilities and their children. In addition to housing solutions, the nearly 60 families served through MOVE have a dedicated case manager, job readiness and search support, medication monitoring, nursing assessments, nutritional education, and integrated health and wellness services.

Moms in the program gain the tools and skills to achieve stability and give their children the security of having a place to call home. As CaringWorks client and MOVE program participant Amber said, “Now I can wake up grateful; I am being the mom that I was meant to be for them.”

Whether it’s through our MOVE program or another one of our programs, parents who get help at CaringWorks demonstrate time and time again that they can overcome even the most difficult circumstances to repair and rebuild relationships with their families.
