Program & Team Spotlight: RISE Atlanta

This month’s program spotlight features RISE Atlanta which currently serves more than 85 single adults across properties throughout the city of Atlanta. This is one of the largest programs in CaringWorks’ portfolio. Quinterra Wright is the new program director and she shares a few updates below.

What are some updates and upcoming activities or initiatives of the program?

We recently had a community engagement cookout, which was the first we’ve had in a while since the program was without a director for more than a year.  It was a great event and we had games and lots of great food. Since I joined CaringWorks in the spring, I’ve been focused on engaging clients and letting them know who I am and that I’m here to support them. My team and I are working on developing more community relationships so we can offer more resources for our clients. There are simple things we take for granted—like food and toiletry items—that our clients sometimes need and having community support can help bridge those gaps. We’re also looking forward to the holidays and doing some special things for our clients to make sure all of them have a holiday gift.

Tell us about some RISE Atlanta team member updates and shoutouts.

I want to highlight Care Coordinator Kerry-Dean Nugent, who is also newer to CaringWorks. She hit the ground running as soon as she joined the organization and she was instrumental in getting us compliant with our case load in just three short months. I also want to wish Mary Catherine well as she has departed CaringWorks. She supported RISE Atlanta while we were without a program director, and when I assumed that position she helped me get acclimated.

Are there any client successes that you want to share to demonstrate the impact of this program?

We recently had a client choose to leave the program and she navigated finding her own housing. It’s wonderful to see clients use the tools and support we offer to become fully self-sufficient.
