CaringWorks Receives Healthcare Georgia Foundation Direct Services Grant
CaringWorks is very proud to be a recipient of the Healthcare Georgia Foundation Direct Services Grant. This grant will support the implementation and evaluation of the Community Health Worker (CHW) evidence-based model to prevent, manage, and reduce risk factors for cardiovascular disease (heart disease and stroke). According to the American Heart Association, heart disease is the leading cause of death for older homeless men. Homeless men age 45 to 64 are 50% more likely to die from heart disease. The CaringWorks ARISE program at Hope House will focus on CVD disease and ways to provide health advice for our clients. This grant will help implement some of these life saving programs.
